Obituary of Raymond Arens

Survivors include 5 nephews: Jerome (Laura Lea) Meyers of Aurora, IA, Alfred (Janice) Meyers of Worthington, IA, Marvin (Sis), Frank (Lois) and Aloysius (Carol) Kramer, all of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Frances Meyers, a half-sister, Marie Overmann-Kramer, a nephew, Andrew Kramer and 2 nieces: Doris Kramer and Ruth Ritter. Ray was born on January 24, 1917, the son of J. Frank and Anna E. (Kroeger) Arens on a farm West of Petersburg, Iowa. He attended SS. Peter & Paul School in Petersburg. Ray was involved in farming all of his life doing a lot of custom farming and running his own machine shop. In his free time Ray enjoyed fishing. Ray and his mother took in and raised Jerome and Alfred Meyers, his sister, Frances' two young sons, upon her death.
