Survivors include 4 sisters-in-law: Dorothy (Ernie) Ellerbach, Florence (Clarence) Kennicker, Irma Schrobilgen and Lucille Brimeyer; 4 brothers-in-law: Richard Tharp, Merlin (Ruth) Leick, Leonard (Elizabeth) Leick and Arnie Leick (special friend Myrna); 27 nieces and nephews and 5 foster grandchildren: Dave (April) Ernzen of Balltown, Beth Ernzen of Holy Cross, Ben, Jessica and Robin Ernzen all of Luxemburg. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille in 1997, a brother Glen Stoffel in 1994, 2 brothers-in-law: John Hess and Melvin Schrobilgen and 2 sisters-in-law: Marina Hess and Rosemary Tharp. Irvin was born on June 7, 1929 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Jacob P. and Bertha U. (Miller) Stoffel. He married Lucille Leick on June 20, 1949 in North Buena Vista, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Rickardsville area until their retirement in 1989 and moved to Holy Cross in 1991. They enjoyed a special farming working relationship. Irvin enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, the Cubs and spending time with family and friends.
