Obituary of Loren Adolph Barghols

Private family services will be held at a later date. Loren was born on September 23, 1923, in Cushing, Iowa, the son of Adolph and Irene (Schlichting) Barghols. He graduated from Cushing High School and served his country during World War II. Upon marrying Mary-Anne Kahl in 1950, he moved several times before settling in Urbandale, Iowa as a truck-sales engineer. Together they moved to Branson, MO in 1991 to enjoy their retirement. After the death of his wife Mary-Anne, Loren moved to Cascade. He took immense pride in his family, his country, his World War II military service, the Democratic Party, Chicago Cubs, and the Iowa State Cyclones. Survivors include his 5 children: Steve (Cathy) of Oklahoma City, OK, Kent of Urbandale, Robin (Bill) Bauer of Dyersville, Tracy Barghols of Phoenix, AZ and Brad (Shannon) of Seattle, WA, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild and a brother, Dave (Hazel) of OK.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary-Anne, a brother Vern and twin sister Lorraine. Memorials can be made to your local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Shady Rest Care Center, Medical Associates of Dubuque and Hospice of Dubuque for their extraordinary care and concern.
