Obituary of Beverly L Collmann
Beverly L. Collmann, 78, of Hopkinton, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Hopkinton. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am at church prior to funeral mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Hopkinton with burial in Hopkinton Cemetery. Rev. Paul Baldwin will officiate.
Bev was born November 12, 1945, in Iowa City to William and Coletta (Fiedler) Murray. She graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1963.
Bev married Lloyd Collmann on May 15, 1965, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Hopkinton. The couple lived in Hopkinton for several years before moving to Marion, Iowa. They returned to Hopkinton in 2007 to make their home.
Bev worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids building circuit boards, retiring in 1997.
She had a passion for bowling and enjoyed competing in tournaments, where her competitive nature shone through.
Bev was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her vibrant spirit and love for family. She loved hosting holiday parties, creating joyful memories from bobbing for apples to scavenger hunts with her grandchildren, and cherishing every moment with her great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
In addition to her love for family, she actively participated in senior meal programs, Eagles Club in Monticello and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Her enthusiasm for life and warmth touched everyone she met.
Survivors include 2 sons, Chuck (Kim) Collmann of Vinton, Bill (Disha) Collmann of Hiawatha; 3 grandchildren: Zachary and Jordan (Rylee) Collmann and Tiffany Stinson; 5 great-grandchildren: Kharter, Regan, Barrett, Rayhven and Oliver, a sister, Virginia Kitto of Dubuque, and a sister-in-law, Joan Murray of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd on December 23, 2018, and 4 brothers: Bob, Jack, Jim and Bill Murray.
Memorials are preferred to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Hopkinton Fire and EMS, and/or Hopkinton Meals on Wheels Service
