Many years ago my husband and I stopped by the closed St. Clement school with my mother because she was heart broken that the school would soon be demolished. She had spent all 12 of years of her education at St. Clement's and dearly wanted to take a final stroll through the classrooms. A kind man approached us as we walked around the grounds. We explained my Mom's wishes to say her final good- bye. That wonderful man was Walter. He offered to walk us through St. Clement's so Mom could relive those precious memories. He was most patient as she went from room to room telling wonderful stories and writing her name on the chalkboard. Walter made her day and brought her so much joy! The small crucifix he allowed her to take off the wall was treasured by her. Rest in peace, Walter. May you experience much of the same joy you brought to others in your heavenly home.
