I always think of Norma as our "neighborhood nurse" growing up in Castle Grove. She was always calm and knew what to do and always there. This was especially true when Gary had his accident and Norma was there....an "angel" that day. I've also enjoyed Norma's kindness and warm smile in more recent years when joining the local ladies coffees with Mom. To all the family....I'm sorry for your loss.

We send condolences to the family on the passing of Norma, who was a wonderful lady. As her niece the main thing I remember about her is her soft spoken manner, and I assume she took after her mom that way, since her sister Ruth always said "I never heard Mom say a harsh word." At the same time, she must have had nerves of steel to be a nurse for all of those years! I know all of her siblings looked up to her, and I like to picture all of them that have gone before her welcoming her as she goes to be with them again. Prayers and good memories for all of you!

I have such good memories of Norma and Steven. Farming in Castle Grove was a wonderful thing for us living there. I extend my sympathies to all her children. May she Rest In Peace.

Our sympathies to the McDonell family. What a wonderful lady, always think of how different it could be for me today. Her being there for me during my accident 20 yrs ago was a lifesaver... A professional nurse and mother was just what I needed ! Always so kind, thoughtful and level headed. Lot of great memories of Steven and Norma in the years past.

I was lucky enough to have Aunt Norma and my Godmother as well as my next-farm neighbor growing up. Norma always had a smile and caring personality. I admired how she balanced working outside the home and caring for her large family. I enjoyed the many rides to and from the Monticello swimming pool she provided and the conversations we would have during that 12 mile ride. I know she is happy to be in her heavenly home, back to her young vibrant self enjoying time with all her loved ones who greeted her there. I look forward to the day when she welcomes me there.
With love,
Mary Lou

I was sorry to see that Norma passed away. My mother was a schoolmate of hers at Mercy Nursing school, and always spoke fondly of Norma and the times they had during their time at the school. My condolences to her family.

Norma was always a nice neighbor to my family when I was growing up. She was always friendly, would always ask how we were doing, and always take the time to talk to us after church at Castle Grove. She was a wonderful nurse and a good friend and I will really miss her. God bless you and your family during this time.
