Lorraine was born on June 8, 1915, in Farley, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Oberbroeckling) Kramer. She received her formal education in Farley area schools. Lorraine married Cletus John Kramer at St. Joseph¡¯s Church, Farley, Iowa on September 18, 1939. Lorraine worked at Kerpers General Store in New Vienna, cooked for weddings in New Vienna and was a local seamstress. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing & playing cards with her children and grandchildren. Lorraine was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church Parish, it¡¯s Altar & Rosary Society, the New Vienna Area Historical Society and a Charter member of the New Vienna VFW Post 7736 Auxiliary. Survivors include her children: Ken (Jean) Kramer of Dubuque, IA, Kay (Gene) Steffen of Farley, IA, Ron (Renee) Kramer of Iowa City, IA, and Mary (Tim) Pins of Dyersville, 10 grandchildren: Tammy (Dan) Vandermillen of Dubuque, Tim (Christina) Kramer of Long Beach, NY, Cindy (Dave) Thul of Marion, IA, Lisa (Dan) Autey of Grafton, WI, Steve Steffen of Bettendorf, IA, Abbey (Scott) Fisher of West Des Moines, IA, Chad (RaeAnnon) Kramer of North Liberty, IA, Melissa (Dave) Schnorrenberg of Eldridge, IA, Michelle Pins (fiance¡ä Ben Humiston) of Pleasant Hill, IA, and Amanda Pins of Chicago, IL, 10 great grandchildren and another due next week, two sisters: Martha Jane Demmer of Farley, IA, Arlene Jaeger of Dyersville, three sisters-in-law: Marguerite Kramer of Lamont, IA, Mae Kramer of Dyersville, and Mary Ann Kramer of North Buena Vista, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, on December 4, 1963, 6 brothers: Ray, Leonard, Clarence, Joe, Laverne and Herbert Kramer, 4 sisters: Evelyn Winter, Mercedes Ries, Bernice Lansing and Marcella Kramer. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Crest Manor Nursing Home, Dyersville Family Practice Physicians and Hospice Compassus for so compassionately tending to her years and final days at Oak Crest Manor. Memorials are preferred to Oak Crest Manor. Friends may call from 2:00 ¨C 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a V.F.W. Post Auxiliary Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. a scripture service will be conducted by Sr. Margaret Ann Kramer at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. John O¡¯Connor.
